About CAV - Services and Programs 24-Hour Crisis Line: 24-hour crisis intervention services providing emotional support, advocacy and information for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Shelter: Emergency shelter for women and children. Short-term and long-term transitional housing program for families including individual counseling, support groups, legal advocacy and children's counseling. Advocacy and support provided to families enabling them to move into independent living.
Legal advocacy: Assistance in obtaining protective orders against a partner or spouse. Also advocacy and support with criminal cases involving domestic violence or sexual assault situations.
Medical advocacy: Accompaniment and advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault at the hospital, emergency room or doctor's office.
Counseling and Support Groups: Individual and group counseling for victims of domestic violence. Group counseling available for female adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Individual and group counseling available for children impacted by domestic violence. Individual counseling for sexual assault victims.
Children's Programs: Short term childcare, resources and referrals for parents, information on the effects of domestic violence on children, therapeutic activities and various playgroups for child witnesses of domestic violence.
Information and Referral: To medical, legal, substance abuse, mental health professionals, housing resources, food and clothing resources, support groups, VOCA information and forms, and other related resources.
Library: Books, video and audio tapes on a variety of topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, health, self-help, and recovery.
Outreach: Education and prevention programs providing age appropriate presentations for schools and community groups on Domestic Abuse, Dating Relationships, Conflict Resolution, Sexual Harassment, Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationship Behavior and Violence Prevention.
Thrift Store: "Second Chances" thrift store receives donations from the community. All proceeds from sales benefit CAV programs and services.
Safe Room Program: Forensic interviewing program for child victims of abuse to support investigations of suspected child abuse and minimize their negative impact on the child.
